“It was a real pleasure joining the Blue Sea Cruises’ Whale Watch and Glass Bottom Cruise while were vacationing in Kona. The boat provided ample room to see from virtually anywhere, and there was plenty of access to the glass-bottomed area. Our hosts took care to point out sea life as we encountered it. On top of that, the food was excellent, and the on-board entertainment uplifting. We’ll definitely return the next time we visit the Big Island.”

Customer Comment: WOW!!! I've uploaded my photos and a comment (to my blog) which I hope will help keep you guys in business. Your cruise was probably one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life.
Cheers guys, Pranav

"WOAH MOMMA! 2009 So there I was on a double decker bright blue and yellow boat (Blue Sea Cruises Inc). Now, as usual I was not looking forward to the thought of hundreds of tourists crowding round the one inch of railing to catch a token glimpse of a distant whale tail. Thankfully these fellas knew what they were doing and kept the passenger manifest to a very comfortable number. Just as I was getting used to the space a massive humpback launched itself sky high mere meters from the boat. There was only one word: Woah! Unfortunately I missed the shot. It was a good job that another big fella kindly obliged, close enough for us to feel the spray. This time I was kind of ready. I then realized that keeping my SLR mounted did not make the most effective method to shoot a fast moving whale that can pop up anywhere from the big blue. Never the less, I may have missed the shot I wanted, but like Ahab, I¹ll be back. The boat had enough space for four times the number of people that actually boarded, ample shade, great commentary, and interactive staff, nice food, and the drinks were ab fab.
Cheers Blue Sea Cruises.
Moby."

Blue Sea Cruises, Inc. does not participate in the activity of allowing swimmers to enter the water to swim with the dolphins. We believe this activity harms the natural behavior of the dolphins and interrupts their much-needed rest during the day.

Studies have shown that Spinner Dolphins are especially vulnerable to human disturbance. Spinners follow a predictable pattern of traveling off shore in the later afternoon to dive down and feed on deep scattering layer animals that rise from their midwater regions towards the surface at night. In the early morning, spinners move in towards shore, especially on the leeward sides of the Big Island. After traveling along the coast during the morning, the spinners go into a rest period during the day. For additional information please refer to NOAA Pacific Islands Regional Office.

MV Spirit of Kona , 70 foot double deck power catamaran with seating capacity of 150 persons.
